PEPS is a parent support model that mobilizes parents with young children who may be isolated or need encouragement. With the support of community organizations, PEPS trains parents as group facilitators. The parent facilitators are then encouraged to establish parent groups with the aim of addressing the needs of children and families in their communities. The result is a network of parent-led support and discussion groups.
FRP Canada and Save the Children Canada participated in a three year project, funded by Ontario Trillium Foundation, to support PEPS in Ontario. Project activities included training, professional development and support for new PEPS groups in three communities in Ontario. The project ended in the spring of 2007.
